We’re delighted to announce we are now representing Nick Ballón. You might know Nick and his work already, but for those that don’t: Nick is Anglo-Bolivian and that heritage is an important source of inspiration for his practice, which explores socio-historical ideas of identity and place, the concept of foreignness and belonging. To name a few of the many awards Nick has received, he’s had Best in Book at Creative Review, won awards at Rencontres d’Arles, PDN, Lens Culture and been nominated for the Prix Pictet. Nick really comes into his own on commercial projects where his unforced style helps create work that really resonates. We’ve just been working on a big Facebook project with Nick shooting stills and motion with large groups of real people, it was a daunting prospect but Nick and his team made the whole experience a pleasure and the results are perfect (more on that another time).
This is normally the time of year we’d be inviting everyone to the pub at Clerkenwell Green for drinks with the photographers – we could have introduced you to Nick there. That’s not possible this year sadly (we plan to make next 2021’s drinks twice as good, save the date!) but we can happily meet over Zoom to present Nick’s work to you, perhaps get Nick on the call as well so he can tell you more about some of the work himself? Please do get in touch if you’d like to arrange something.
We’ll be sure to raise a glass to everyone we’d have loved to have seen at drinks this year. from all of us at WC&J x
