These images are from Julia’s new series of personal work ‘Feral Children’. The definition of a feral child is a child who has been isolated from human contact from a young age which results in the child growing up with little or no experience of human care, behaviour or language. Julia researched 15 famous cases of feral children from around the world for the project. She wanted to tell their incredible stories photographically, but didn’t want to replicate the cases directly, more to interpret each child’s experience. The Huffington Post published the series in full with an article detailing each of the unbelievable stories which you can read in full here.
