Great Western Railway
Concept Giles Revell & John Rushworth (Pentagram Design)
Photography Giles Revell

This project celebrates Brunel’s historic Great Western Railway. The work encompasses the entire two thousand kilometre network from the perspective of both the passenger and driver. It is concerned with the whole story of the journey; back gardens, warehouses, trailer parks and livestock are all recorded, as well as the beautiful West Country landscape and landmarks. It is a unique pictorial timetable, a comprehensive collection of images that record the railway at the close of one era and the dawn of another: the introduction of electric trains.
